Exercise

Exercise is the way forward to a new you

Regular exercise, along with healthy eating, is the best way to lose weight in the correct way. Strange diets seem to come and go with alarming regularity, but the individual tends to regain the pounds as quickly as they lost them in the first place. The sensible way to lose weight is to do so slowly and regularly.

More and more people are joining their local health clubs and undertaking a fixed exercise routine. Most clubs offer free advice on which activities will best suit the individual, and can arrange regular monitoring of their progress. Those with a little more money to spend can hire their own personal trainer, who can motivate them even further.

Be a good sport and get training

But if you can’t afford such luxuries, there’s still no reason to avoid exercise. Jogging in the park, or even brisk walking, will not only shift the pounds, but will also enable you to feel better about yourself. Studies suggest that people who embark on regular exercise are far more likely to eat sensibly than those who don’t.

Healthy hearts love exercise

Swimming is a superb form of exercise, and it’s great fun, too. Taking part in organised sport is also excellent, so if you’ve ever dreamed about turning out for the local football team, or returning to the tennis courts, now could be the ideal time.

If you prefer something a little more sedate, you may want to consider golf. Every time you play at an 18-hole course, you walk around five miles, so the benefits to a healthier heart are apparent. Whichever form of exercise you decide upon, your body will be extremely grateful.
