Perhaps the most beautiful burgh in the whole of Perthsire, Pitlochry has a unique history and is surrounded by some of the most picturesque countryside anywhere in Europe. The area is popular with hillwalkers, and attracts tourists from all over the world.
The area became popular in the 19th century thanks to Queen Victoria, who adored the tranquil lifestyle and the warmth of the welcome. In 2009, Pitlochry won a gold medal in the prestigious Britain in Bloom competition, underlining its beauty.
